I Accidentally Killed My Plant

My friend unsolicitedly “watered” my plant, i know this happened because when i got home it was dead, and he’d been by earlier to grab something. It’s a simple little air plant that i’ve had for. This burnout has really impacted my ability and motivation to care for my plants and as a result a lot of my plants have died. I feel extremely guilty and ashamed that i let so many of them die. Has anyone dealt with this before?

They went on to explain that they were in a new home and hadn't built up their own compost pile. Your plant is suffering from root rot. Unpot, clean the roots thoroughly and make sure to cut above the soft bits. Repot in clean soil. If there's not enough roots left after you prune it, toss. Vinegar is acetic acid. Acids are detrimental to plant growth. If they were mine i would have.
